Kadriu said that, legislatively, workers in Kosovo are protected by the Labour Safety Law, the Protection of Employment Health and the Labour Environment, so according to him, the employer is obliged to provide the necessary conditions for protection at work, with which the protection of life and health is provided.
There's a lot of work to be done, if millions are spent on electoral campaigns, it's better to spend it on senbilising workers at work, because we have deaths and injuries and workers can be our family and to keep people safe that they are our”, Kadri said.
Agim Mullaku, representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Management and Labour and Security Accounting, announced that the construction sector is identified with the largest number of accidents that occur in decline.
According to him, companies should invest in job security and take measures to prevent measures for risks at work.
“The workers in advance must be familiar with all possible potential resources that can endanger health in the workplace and here may be cargo, bearing, uncovered space, concentration etc. and”, Mullaku said.
The Dean of the Faculty of Construction Engineering and Infrastructure at the UBT, Muhamet Ahmeti, indicated that this institution is working to prepare a manual that will provide and will be available for every worker and company, showing all the worse points and risk at work.
While Safet Ymer from the KEK Training Centre said that accidents and deaths at the workplace have been significantly reduced in KEK.
We have not had accidental deaths in the last five years, and the injuries of workers have apparently been reduced”, Ymer said.
The research is also presented under this forum: “Defence, Security and Work Health in the construction sector”, presented by the prof. Hazir Chadraku, and “Health and Security Management at Construction Industry”, presented by prof. Driton Kryeziu.
The event was held in the UBT, in the form of the forum theme: “The protection, security and health of the construction sector in Kosovo”, organised by the Faculty of Construction Engineering and Infrastructure. The forum has been organised as a result of low levels of security and working health protection in the construction sector, which, in the course of 2018 alone, have lost 6 workers and 33 others have been injured in the workplace.
