At 2:22 a.m. on Sunday, their boat sank on Kekova Geykova Island in an Antalya province.
Four of the refugees, including one woman and three men, were rescued from a fishing ship.
A person has disappeared as well as the nationality of refugees still unknown.
The European Union has stepped up efforts to block migration due to the millions of people who arrived in Turkey in 2015. (REL)
