Rare Assad presentation, seen pardoning Bajrami in mosque (Photo)

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has gone to the mosque in the western part of the country for prayers marking the end of Ramadan.

Assad prayed at Sayida Khadija mosque in the town of Tartus.

In a photograph he was seen alongside the head of the Islamic community in the country.

This is a rare presentation of him outside Damascus since the war began in Syria more than six years ago.

Last year he led the prayer of dung in the town of Hama.

Since 2011, 350,000 civilians have been killed in the country.
