QKUK surgeons protest tomorrow

The surgeons are warning the strike from tomorrow, as their demands for salary increases were not realized. Kosovo University Clinical Centre surgeons are expected to return to the strike tomorrow. The Schneta newspaper has learned from the strike council that tomorrow will be a one-day strike to continue at the end of the month [...]
The strike will be held after the 1 June deadline for salary increases. The surgeons had given this deadline to Health Minister Uran Ismaili and the Government of Kosovo, in January of this year when the attacks of clinics and surgical departments were held at KKUKU and regional hospitals.
Tomorrow, it is also expected to end the entire operation program, first in Abdominal Surgery then to continue at other clinics. Doctors, in addition to growth and classification, are also demanding increased custody.
On the other hand, the Federation of Health Unions has stated several times that they are working with the Government on changing the Law of the Salaries. Unionists also have an agreement signed with the PAN Coalition, which leads with the government. However, this agreement is not respected, nor is it expected to be respected at least this year.
Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj himself has declared this during a visit to the Ministry of Health. Haradinaj has said that salary hikes will take place next year, while for this year “needs to be seen what they can do”, so hinting there will be no salary increases. But this can deepen the health crisis where workers have been demanding salary hikes for almost two years.
