Russia's President Vladimir Putin said that the meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong and US President Donald Trump highlighted hope of resolving problems via peaceful and diplomatic routes, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
Putin met with North Korean People's Assembly Speaker Kim Jong-nam, who is in Moscow to attend the World Championship opening ceremony FIFA 2018.
The Russian president in his speech praised the meeting between Trump and Kim in Singapore.
He welcomed the two leaders' meeting. “I highly appreciate the results of the northeastern leader Kim Jong's meeting with US President Donald Trump”, Putin said.
According to him, the meeting has avoided a scenario that could trigger military clashes with serious consequences for the world.
The hope for resolving problems via peaceful and diplomatic path” was highlighted, the Russian president targeted.
Putin reiterated the invitation for Kim to visit Russia.
