The restoration of the Karshi Mosque in Pristina and the “Geazi Mehmed Pashas” in Prizren will be made by the Turkish Agency for Co-operation and Co-ordination - What?
The latter will make the financing, while the Ministry of Culture will take care to implement the Law on Heritage.
Naim Ternava of the Islamic Community of Kosovo has declared that the mosque in Pristina that six years has been held hostage by the Pristina Community and the Institute for Protection of Cultural Heritage.
Culture Ministry Secretary General Veton Firzi has explained their responsibility as minister.
The Ministry of Culture's “Obligations are to ensure that the share of administrative procedures and the supervision of the implementation of projects becomes a reality of cultural heritage law”, he has said.
Turkey's ambassador to Kosovo, Kıvılsım Kılıc, estimates that with their restoration both people will benefit.
Kılıch: Next Generations Benefit
“With the work being done will benefit the various generations that will inherit the monuments... We hope that these monuments will be a strong link between the two countries and our peoples”, she said.
While Mufti Naim Ternava from the Islamic Community of Kosovo has said these two mosques are the oldest in our country and among the most special in the Balkans.
It has been unfair, for six years we have surrounded that mosque and kept it in custody... given that the “mosque Sultan Murat” and others are the identification of Old Pristina... is a major injustice that has remained in that situation because of disagreements between the Pristina municipality and the Institute for Protection of Monuments”, he has said.
The Charshia Mosque in Pristina is also known as the Stone or “mosque Sultan Murat”
