It was MP Mergim Lushtaku who demanded that this restriction be lifted. He has also called for a change in Article 63 of this law for high costs of car registration, in this case in the process of changing the owner, the KP broadcasts.
Lushtaku's proposal has also been supported by colleague Sala Berisha-Shala, who said that even in terms of vehicle control, there are violations of free competition.
But Avdi Cameroll from the Ministry of Infrastructure has said there is no need to become the law on removing the definition of cars, because according to him, Kosovo turns into cemeteries of rotten vehicles, which also endanger traffic.
LDK MP Hykmete Bajrami has said that changing Article 44 for the removal of the automotive age criteria should be well analysed, while supporting change of Article 63 for the vehicle registration process.
Without a vote against members of the Commission for Economic Development have backed MP Mergim Lushtaku's initiative to change the Automotive Law.
Limiting the import of cars older than ten years went into effect on January 1, 2018.
