About 1600 commissioners, who cared for the success of the election process in the second round of local elections, held on November 19th 2017, and revoted for local Istog Community elections held at the end of December, have still not been paid by the CEC for the job done.
Central Election Commission head (KQZ), Valdete Daka, on the “Zyra Anques” show, at RTV Duguagjini, said that the CEC has no means to carry out these payments, as the Finance Ministry has attracted the last means to their accounts, Telegraphed.
According to her, recent elections were held in late December, which has made commission payable since it is also the outcome of fiscal year from the Finance Ministry.
“1600 commissionors are not paid because in the last elections held in the municipality of Istog, it is at the end of the fiscal year. So all the tools we've had in our accounts are attracted by the Ministry of Finance. We've asked the Government of Kosovo again to enable these tools to withdraw again for commission payment, but the government has told us that there are no means at that moment, and that we will certainly do in reviewing the budget that will happen very soon. And the other reason is the closure of the fiscal year, which closes approximately 21-22 December and we have the last elections held by the end of December, so on December 27th we have certified them. We don't have the means to pay the commissioners.
