Minister of Finance says UNMIK media regulation needs to be changed

Finance Minister Bedri Hamza has talked about the issue of salaries and wages at institutions that this minister oversees. Regarding the issue of UNMIK's hiring regulation, Hamza said it must change. “Most do not go outside Kosovo, they have started to do tables and other things in Kosovo. UNMIK regulation [...]
“Most of it doesn't go outside Kosovo, have started doing tables and other things in Kosovo. UNMIK's regulation must be changed. It shouldn't be the same day as in the region as in the US. Those traveling to Tokyo must have higher wages. The order must be changed, other practices must be established. The beatings should be as they are, for example, the World Bank, or any other institution, but be on line with them. It is not correct for the wages to be higher in the countries of the region, the lowest in Brussels and other expensive” countries, he stressed.
However, jobs abroad have been significantly reduced, the minister says.
Speaking to the 90th Teachers' Law, Hamza said there are various social pressures.
We're saying that citizens don't need to improve their pension salaries, nor are they ever familiar with contributions. The faithful have been recognized as the stage of the '90s. They're the only category out of all the categories that have taken advantage of this. Whatever we try to do today for the teachers of the day is insufficient. But it is dangerous because other categories can come with similar requests. Budgetary capacity is not enough to cover all these cases. Can we say that all the people who have lived in Kosovo in the years of the '90s have contributed, and can we now come up with a decision to give a pension to all of them? This should not happen because they do not endure economic and financial capacities. Therefore, we need to be rational about actions that charge Kosovo's budget. We must treat categories carefully, in line with financial conditions”, said Minister Hamza.
Regarding the GAP report on the education law of the 1990s, Hamza said their study is in line with the Ministry of Finance.
Kosovo's public debt is at acceptable levels and there is no danger, the finance minister said.
Kosovo is in public debt 18 percent gross local product, but this dare not bring us into comfortable situations to borrow without any criteria. We need to borrow only for projects that have a return and the debt we need to keep within the lawful limit”, said Minister Hamza, citing projects that have been signed, such as the Pristina-Peje road for which the project said the money was earmarked for completion of the 100 per cent project.
The next project, which has 100 financing, is the Pristina-Mitrovica road, Hamza said, stressing that since funding for it is, it should not be expected further of its outcome.
According to the finance minister, veterans' pensions are a burden to Kosovo's budget, as it has long scope and is not the process that ends for 2-3 years.
“must correct the number of veterans and come to a number that has really been active”, Hamza said. / KTV/
