Trade and Industry Minister Bajram Hasani has been alarmed on Tuesday that high- content palm oil products, considered harmful to health, are being sold on the Kosovo market today, Koha Ditore writes.
However, he has indicated that he is powerless to take measures because the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV), which is in charge, according to Hasani, is being slow in this regard.
The minister has shown the consequences of using the high quantity of this oil.
I've talked to some experts and it's said that if the palm oil is used in the highest amount for 13 years most arteries are closed and threaten heart attacks. Until countries in Europe say palm oil is harmful if more than 20 percent are used in products. We have today products being produced in Kosovo with 100 percent palm oil”, he has indicated, during his reporting to the parliamentary Commission for European Integration, concerning the implementation of the SAA by the dictatorship he leads.
