Kosovo's Assembly has reviewed the Kosovo Memorial Management Agency's annual report, which has been criticised by Kosovo Assembly deputies, as they say the report has a lot of inaccuracies.
MPs have asked the Government and the Ministry of Environment to grant full competencies to this Agency so that they may then be able to seek greater responsibility in terms of the memorial situation.
Likewise, MPs have demanded that capital investments be added to the entire territory of Kosovo, and not only to several cities, while a memorial of Adem Jashar is required to be placed in the capital.
For the Kosovo Institute Management Agency Report, LDK MP Besa Gageri has said presenting capital investments in this report is completely unintelligible.
And if we go through the activity for the reporting period, so for 2017, I'm reading it, it's around 40 projects, and surprisingly all these projects are divided in the Prekaz re-information, Podujevo, Volvel, Vushter, I want you to keep in mind to follow it all, while you'll see places that don't have any plans. Vushtrri, Gjakova, Prekaz Skenderaj, Maria Skenderaj, Penuha Podujevo, Vrella Istog, Drenas, Recak Shtime, Koshar, Mej Gjakova, Likoshan énas. It means that according to this report that is completely unclear to me, we see that under the impression that for 2017, even planning for 2018 no memorial projects in the municipality of Pec, Gjilan and Ferizaj. At the same time no investment has been made for President Ibrahim Rugova's memorial complex, he said.
She also said that investments in all of Kosovo are not well reflected and clearly in the 2017 report.
Gager said the Government and the Ministry of Environment should soon carry all Agency competencies so that the search for responsibility in terms of memorials is easier.
The criticism for the report has also had PDK deputy Ganimette Musliu, who has indicated that the report containing 29 pages, on 20 pages speaks of mission, vision, assets, organogram, which, according to her, would at least have to take place in labour reports.
Musliu had a proposal for the current director of the Agency for Management of Kosovo Memorial Confusions.
I propose to the new director that in the next report for 2018, don't waste time telling us about the mission, vision, organogram, and shit again. But to focus on concrete work and concrete results, because the state of memorials in the Republic of Kosovo is in poor condition and is simply uncomfortable. As for the vote or not of this report, I posted it earlier and it doesn't even change anything like we voted it, as we didn't vote”, she said.
While, Vetevendosje Movement MP. Shemsy Syla has demanded that Kosovo have a war museum to testify to what the people of Kosovo have experienced.
Why don't we have the war museum today and why we have nowhere in the uniform of the Kosovo Liberation Army, the flag he carried, the uniform coat, so we have nowhere exposed to Kosovo institutions. Even those monuments, Septembers, cemeteries that were raised by the people, and few of the institutions by lack of care, have been degraded to the extent of contempt. They seem to have been raised a century ago and as if these lands were in captivity and not in freedom. From the aspect of institutional post-war treatment the traces of a portion that have left the last remaining in Kosovo's war with weapons and other exhibits, even though it is stored in a sector founded in the Kosovo Museum in no way meets the minimum of what it should be. The absence of a KLA war museum that would deal with this historic period of pride unfortunately is a testimony to the institutional neglect and bypass that makes the most glorious history of our people”, he said.
He even criticized all governments from after the war that they did not do so, while he skeptical that such a thing would be done in the near future.
While MP Faton Topalli from the Social Democrat Party, criticism has taken place regarding the distribution of investments, where he said it had to be invested in Ferizaj and Pec as well.
There has been no dignified treatment of memorials in Kosovo, given that a very small commitment to our historical values has been shown, which is the task of this agency. With its planning, with the actions that have been undertaken and in general with the management plan it has shown that the very treatment has been disrespectful and is not the support of the values and function for which this memorial complex has been created. What seems to be a bit of a tool distribution that has been made available by the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo excluding here not only Ferizaj, but Peja and so on.
I think that's not fair, so in the future, as far as the Agency plans to take into account this” division, he said, r.
