Greece and Macedonia earlier signed an agreement today under which the new name of the former Yugoslav republic will be Republic of Northern Macedonia.
Opposition Leader V MRO-DPMNE Hristian Mickoski said in the protest march in Manastir that this party rejects the agreement with all democratic and legal means and that it will not support changing the Constitution nor changing the country's constitutional name.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev's agreement with Greece has been characterised as a national capitulation and degradation of Macedonia's sovereignty.
“History will judge. Our name is Macedonia, the name of our pride and we are proud Macedonians. Macedonia is our love, emotion, our home,” said Mickoski.
Protest was held in Prilep, where citizens shouted their name was Macedonia
