Libya's deputy prime minister is reportedly abducted the previous day by an armed group in Tripoli.
An unnamed government official in Tripoli confirmed that Fat sjellëhi al-Majbari, deputy prime minister of Libya, has been kidnapped and sent in an unknown direction, reports the Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency.
So far there is no information about the fate of the kidnapped deputy prime minister, or the authenticity of the news.
Libya has been the scene of a deep political and security crisis since 2011, when mass anti-regime protests killed Muammar Gaddadi. Since then in power are parallel governments with headquarters in Tripoli and Tobrück, which have separate parliaments and armed forces.
At the end of 2015, representatives of Libya's parallel governments under the UN umbrella signed an agreement on forming the National Unity Government.
The plan was for the government to take power in the country in the 12-month term and announce parliamentary elections. Due to disagreements, so far the agreement has not been fully implemented, so Libya is still far from a stable country from a political and security aspect.
