As a major supporter of the Kosovo Albanian political Movement that was being born in late 1989, and as a close associate of Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova at the time, since January 17th 1990, was co-founder and the first chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo in Vushtrri, as the first branch of this party established in Kosovo. For several mandates, Krasniqi was also a member of the LDK's central leadership and multi-year branch director in Vushtrri.
