In May, Kosovo imported 10 times more than it exported

Foreign Trade data in Kosovo points to a higher trade deficit for 13.1% in May 2018, in proportion to the same period in 2017, worth 277.8 million euros, compared to the deficit of 245.7 million euros in 2017. Export covers import by 10.6%. Export [...]
Exporting goods in May 2018 had a value of 32.8 million euros, while import of 310.6 million euros, which is a drop of (2.0%) exports and an 11.3% increase in imports, compared to the same period in 2017.
According to key export groups data: 26.9% of exports make up basic metals and articles; 20.7% make up mineral products; 11.3% make up plastics, tires and articles from them; 10.1% make up prepared food, drink and tobacco; 3.3% make up plant products; 3.0% make up its skins and articles; 2.7% make up different products produced; 2.3% make up machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 2.1% make up the text and articles from it, etc.
While, according to key import groups data: 15.8% of imports make up machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 14.3% make up mineral products; 11.4% make up basic metals and products; 11.0% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 7.7% make up transport tools; 6.6% make up plastic, tires and articles; 6.5% make up chemical industry products; 4.9% and plant products, etc.
Kosovo exports to EU countries reached 11.2m euros, or about 34.4% of total exports, with an increase of 51.6%. Key partners for export of goods to the EU are: Austria (10.2%), Germany (4.5%), Slovenia (3.9%), Great Britain (3.8%), the Netherlands (3.4%), Bulgaria (3.0%).
Kosovo imports from EU countries stood at around 133.2m euros, or 42.9% of total imports, an increase of 13.1%. Imports with higher turnout were from: Germany (12.7%), Italy (8.4%), Spain (2.9%), Greece (2.5%), Poland (2.2%) etc.
In May 2018, Kosovo's exports with CEFTA countries reached 17.5m euros, or 53.5% of total exports, with a 5.2% increase. Key export partners from CEFTA countries are: Albania (18.5%), Macedonia (12.2%), Serbia (12.1%), Montenegro (8.0%).
While, imports from CEFTA countries in May 2018 reached 85.5m euros, or 27.5% of total imports, with an increase of 13.9%. The countries with the highest share in import was: Serbia (12.6%), Albania (6.5%), Macedonia (5.0%) and B&H (2.9%).
Kosovo exports with other countries of the world reached 3.9m euros, or 12.1%. As more important partners from these export countries, it's worth mentioning: Switzerland (7.8%) and Turkey (2.3%).
While, Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world reached 91.8m euros, or 29.6%. The countries with the highest share in import in this group were: Turkey (10.4%) and China (8.9%).
