Kadri Wessel's lobe team criticised

Kosovo's chief speaker, Kadri Veselin, along with a team of several deputies, has launched a tour of EU states, a tour called lobbyists aimed at visa liberalisation. On this team's first visit to Austria, its integral part was Teuta Rugova (LDK), alongside Glauk Konjufca (Vetvendosje), Aida [...]
In this team's first visit to Austria, its constituent part was Teuta Rugova (LDK), along with Glauk Konjufca (Vetevendosje), Aida Drcgut (PSD), Evgen Thaci Dragusha (PDK), Time Kadrijat (AAK), Adem Hodza (Serbian List) and Fikrim Damka (6), KTV reports.
As of this time, the team is standing in France, where they have held meetings with the president of France's National Assembly, Francisco de Rugy, but the team notes a lack.
Based on photos sent to the Kosovo Assembly communique, only the men of the Parliament are seen, and not alone. In addition to the Speaker of the Parliament, Kosovo's Ambassador to France, Centre Gashi, alongside Memli Krasniqi (PDK), Glauk Konjufca (VV), Visar Ymer (PSD), Albert Kinolli (PRBK) and Enver Hoti (Nisma).
Teuta Rugova's participation in the past tournament had been sharply criticised after her party, the LDK, had openly declared that she would not participate in this tournament, which she called <x0 resort>”.
“To contribute to meeting the criteria for visa liberalisation, the Speaker of the Assembly must ensure the management of the Kosovo Assembly's affairs to approve laws that are related to the SAA and specifically to the European Reforms Agency. As leader of the party in the coalition, the Speaker of the Parliament should see to it that the Government fulfils its obligations towards the agenda for Kosovo's European integration. To inform the opinion, the LDK Parliamentary Group has not accepted any official letter from the Speaker of the Assembly regarding the intentions of this trip, agenda of other important meetings and details to plan this official visit properly. Such trips are unnecessary spending public money and send unclear messages to EU states”, Avdullah Hoti had said at the time.
Artan Murati from the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), days ago told “Koha Ditore” that this initiative raises many questions.
In principle, lobbiing to EU member states is more than necessary when it comes to voting for visa removal for the Schengen area for Kosovo citizens, because it is the Council of Ministers that will say the final word in this process. So in general, lobeing would have to be very intense and systematic”, Murati said. “Well, the latest initiative raises many questions about how this campaign will be realised. First, how will countries where they will be lobbied? It is not known at all whether this delegation has a concrete agenda with states and individuals it will meet with”.
According to Murati, states that may be problematic in Kosovo's pro-Kosovo vote and visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens should be targeted. As problematic he also considers the fact that modalities are not known as to who will speak on behalf of Kosovo at these meetings.
The “should target a comprehensive team with all parliamentary political subjects, not a list of MPs that are not delegated by their subjects, or are simply the preference of a certain political subject”.
According to Murati, even the time in which this lobby is developing is a bit problematic, as Kosovo has not yet received official confirmation from the EU that it has met all conditions for liberalisation. “As long as there is no such confirmation, no procedure will be initiated in the EU in terms of abolishing visas for Kosovo. We need to be very careful as a state, not to give the wrong impression, and not to do harm by trying to do good”, Murati has finished.
Kadri Wessel, accompanied by deputies of office and opposition, has met in Paris during the day, even with the head of the Friendship Group in the French Senate, Marta de Cidrac.
