Britain must submit written proposals on how it plans to set the border with Ireland after BRUX in the next two weeks, or face dialogue, said Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney.
The border between the southern part under Great Britain and the rest of Ireland will be Britain's only border with the European Union, after leaving the bloc.
While both sides are determined to keep the border open, finding an alternative solution seems elusive.
The European Union and Ireland insist that the withdrawal from the agreement should be closed with a reconciliation guaranteeing that Ireland's north will function according to European Union rules, if in the future any trade pact does not demonstrate the need for re-advising borders. (REL)
