Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, at the beginning of July, will be transferred about 12,000 euros to his bank account from the state budget, Koha Ditore writes today.
That is after he at the Government meeting on Tuesday has abolished the decision to suspend the salary hikes received last December from the Government leading him.
About 9 thousand euros will be transferred as a salary increase, for the 6 months the decision has not been implemented, and around 3 thousand euros paid for June.
In addition to the prime minister, the salary will be raised even to the president and hundreds of other public officials, including judges and prosecutors.
But this decision, according to the Anti-Corruption Agency (AKK), is illegal because it poses conflict of interest.
AKK interpretations serve primarily to prevent criminal acts, which they identify. This interpretation in the normal situation “guides” institutions and public officials to avoid conflict of interest in the event their public work consists of other largely financial benefits outside the salary.
