Hahn: Preparations for starting negotiations with Albania to begin immediately

Preparations for starting talks with Albania and Macedonia will start immediately, European Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn said in an interview for radio” Free Europe”.

Hahn stressed that with the Council for General Affairs decision, the Commission has received the green light to start work that will enable the launch of negotiations officially by the middle of next year.

” will need more than 100 conferences to analyze various elements. This is a challenge for governments, especially for administration”, commissioner Han has said.

The “citizens of Albania and Macedonia should see this from the very positive perspective”, he added.

“I would not like to say half a cup filled, but almost 90 percent of the glass is filled because the vast majority of member states recognised their achievements and must be understood that this is the very strong commitment of political leaders, as well as citizens, to determination regarding their European perspective. And this is a good opportunity to convince the three countries that their skeptical approach is not justified”, Han says.
