Despite that June 28th was the controversial date for the European Commission's report regarding the fulfilment of the last criteria towards visa liberalisation, European Integration Minister Gisot Hoxha says the report is expected next days.
She has expressed optimism that the recommendation will be positive.
From the last visit Prime Minister Hoxha has had to Brussels, according to the latter it turns out there will be no postponement of the recommendation.
The “recommendation is expected to be released in the last days of June or the first days of July. The recommendation is expected to come up positive. The recommendation will come out before the break, and it's a matter of days. And this is just the first step towards integration. Our goal is that no matter how much we can do, since we have met the criteria, so we can encourage the Eurodeputs”, she said.
From this visit, she said she has secured the pro votes from the Eurodeputs.
“Visa liberalisation is only among the first steps towards integration. I've requested support from the Eurodeputs. I can't say we've secured the votes for it from the Europuts”, she said.
