German industrial cable producer Cromberg& Schubert has opened a 29m-euro production plant in Serbia's Kursevac last week.
The production factory has 23,000 square metres of space and will have a labour force of 2,500 employees during its first phase of development, the town's leaders in Krusevac have announced in a statement, broadcast. News.net.
“The company plans to open 1,500 additional locations during the second phase of the factory's development”, Cromberg Director General said. Schubert, Zeljko Matijavic.
The Krushevac city government provided the land for construction of the factory, provided the necessary infrastructure, and thus facilitated investment”, he added.
In October 2017, the Serbian government said it signed an agreement with Cromberg& Schubert to build a factory in Krusevac, which would produce parts for automobile giants like Daimler, BMW and Volkswagen.
Cromberg& Schubert is a family firm founded in 1902. There are factories in 30 countries around the world, producing electrical installation systems for the automobile industry.
