Georgia's prime minister, Giorgi Kvili, resigned after a wave of antigovernmental protests that have shocked the capital Tbilisi.
Kvirikashvili announced his decision Wednesday, citing <x0mosmosis” with ruling party leader Bidzin Ivanisvili as his reason.
“I think it is the moment when a party leader should be given the opportunity to form the new cabinet”, Kvilishvili said.
He has been prime minister since December 2015.
With his decision to resign, the entire cabinet is dissolved.
The wave of protests in Tbilisi has started on 31 May against, as it has been said, a justice error following the murder of two teenagers in December.
