Renowned American Professor George Friedman says the future of the Balkans is not very promising. A good connoisseur of geopoliticals, Friedman says there can be war in the Balkans.
He says Serbs have Russian support for every step they will take, while Albanians have the support of Americans and Croats of Germans. Friedman says convinced that it is only a matter of time for war to erupt in the Balkans.
“Villages hear rumors, and here's the kind of fight. The Balkans is not the only country in the world where this happens, but there is no other place on the globe that is so important for so many great powers. Hence, it is not surprising why there are always rumors and rumors, that the region is often on the brink of war. And it's not surprising that gossip is usually wrong. They simply ensure that we are surprised when they come true. It's just a matter of time. And this is a region that expects war, making it more likely to happen” claims Friedman.
Sometimes fighting between villages pulls into battle in other villages, attracting capitals, attracting great powers.
