While Germany and the Netherlands are involved in a process of discussion and decision making within parliament, or even their governments, where there are conditions such as the case of the German Bundestag, which has also prepared a resolution project for Albania, the same cannot be said of Paris, where this is no matter.
Sources told Top Channel that the opening of Albania's negotiations has only been discussed on the day of Prime Minister Edi Rama's visit to Paris, when he met with President Emannuel Macron to seek the support of this important EU country.
France's stance is different from Germany and the Netherlands, and Macro's concern is for the future of the European Union, rather than the countries that aspire to integration into the union with many internal problems.
“I am in favour of the Balkan dock in Europe and of walking towards Europe. But I think we should see every new expansion very carefully and harshly. I'm not in favour of enlargement before we all have the necessary security and before we make real reform so that enlargement is in the best interests of the European Union. We must have a strengthened and strategic dialogue with Balkan countries, follow the reforms that have been undertaken, and encourage them without being hypocritical”, Macron declared at the Sofia Summit 17 May.
