The European Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) will have operational mission to Kosovo on issues related to the Special Court. In addition, The Hague-based court will offer additional support, Koha Ditore writes today.
By half of June, this mission has been reduced to composition and even to mandate. But it will preserve some executive competencies that connect with witnesses, and even such dealing with the Special, the court that has in its jurisdiction clarifying the former KLA members' war crimes claims, summed up in Senator Dick Marty's report, which bears the seal of the Council of Europe.
In EULEX, they have indicated what concrete co-operation will be with the Specialised Chambers and with the Special Prosecutor's Office, this special appointment official.
“After the new mandate, the EULEX mission will co-operate with the Specialised Chambers and with the Prosecutor's Office specialised, providing logistical and operational support in accordance with the relevant Kosovo legislation”, it is said in a written response that this European mission has given the paper.
EULEX will implement the new mandate through the Monitoring Unit and Operations Unit.
