The European Union's retaliatory tariffs towards American goods came into force today, the latest attack on Donald Trump's trade policy.
The taxes affect total articles of 2.8 billion euros, targeting important products for the US such as whiskey, motorcycles and orange juice.
The president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, recalled what America was like, the first to set new tariffs that conflict with logic and history. After Turkey on Thursday, India also imposed taxes on 29 products imported from the United States, including some agricultural goods and others made of aluminum and steel.
Its tariffs are in effect from August 4th, and especially affects exports of almonds. India is the largest buyer of American almonds in the world, so this movement is expected to weigh heavily on American farmers.
Donald Trump made his threat a reality, including the EU on new US tariffs from June 1st, and his list was extended to Canada and Mexico.
But the responses he is receiving from all sides raise the question: Can America really cope with the trade struggle with everyone?
