The European Union Council has extended the mandate of the Special Representative in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova, until February 29th 2020.

Apostolova was appointed special representative on August 4, 2016, reports the newspaper Alo.
For 20 months the mandates of EU Special Representatives in Central Asia, the Horn of Africa, Sahel, the South Caucasus and the Georgia crisis have continued.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's representative mandate continued for 14 months.
Special representatives promote EU policies and interests in certain regions and states, as well as issues of particular interest to the EU.
They play an active role in consolidating peace, stability, and rule of law. The first EU representatives were appointed in 1996.
Currently, eight special representatives support the work of European Union High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Moghrini.
These are six cited and special representatives for the Human Rights and the Middle East peace process.
