US Ambassador to Kosovo Greg Delaway said corruption in Kosovo has deep roots and that it cannot be expected to be eliminated in a short time.
We all know corruption has deep roots. You and I know he can't be eliminated in one night”, Delawi said, speaking at a table organised by several civil society organisations, where data was presented by “Java Anti-Corruption 2017”.
The US diplomat said the “political will and government support are more important than ever to achieve results” in the fight against corruption.
Delawie said he is concerned with the political impact on the justice system, saying that Kosovo has European future only if the “judges are independent and unpolluted”.
It also invited civil society organisations to be “vigiant” during monitoring public procurement and generally active in fighting corruption.
