We need to talk about what long-term normalisation of relations with Pristina means, the Serbian prime minister said.
Brnabyq, answering questions from a journalist in Smederevo, said that in Serbia's interest, the long-term issue of normalisation of relations with Pristina, Periscopi broadcasts “92”.
She said we should be open to compromise, “but that means you can't go to any extreme. Compromise means that we should put away thoughts on what is written as “Kosovo is Serbia or Serbia will recognise Kosovo's independence””.
“I personally think Serbia will never recognise Kosovo's independence, because I think it is impossible”, the prime minister said, but she also said that we should be willing to discuss whether to open a compromise discussion on the issue if Kosovo is Serbia.
She believes the frozen conflict is not in Serbia's interest and reiterates that a compromise should be discussed and found. Asked what she told displaced people from Kosovo in Smederevo, Brnabiq said the Serbian government was trying to do everything to meet and that it was terrible not to know enough about the sufferings of Kosovo Serbs.
I will try to send a clearer message in the coming days about what is happening today with Kosovo. In May alone, we have had 14 different incidents and attacks on Serbs living in Kosovo, and if that means Serbs will be expelled from Kosovo, Serbia will not allow it and we expect the international community to do the same”, Serbia's prime minister said.. /Periscopi/
