Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Behgjet Pacolli has continued his diplomatic tour of Europe, with his visit to the Swiss Convention.
Kosovo's top diplomat today was hosted by his Swiss counterpart, Chief of Foreign Affairs Department Ignazo Casis.
In this case, Foreign Minister Pacolli has thanked the Swiss chief diplomat for the strong support the Swiss state has given to the country and the people of Kosovo through all the most difficult periods.
“Switzerra is among the first states to have recognised Kosovo's independence and prior to that, is among the first states to have submitted independence as a sustainable solution for Kosovo and as a factor of peace and stability in the Balkans. We, we are eternally grateful to the state and the Swiss people for this powerful and unrecognised support”, the Kosovo government's number two has said.
“Lituras and the proximity between Switzerland and Kosovo are not only built by the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states, but an important factor on this journey has been our diaspora, which is estimated to be about 200,000 (two hundred thousand) ”, it is expressed.
In the course of the meeting, the top diplomats of the two respective states have discussed the deepening and expanding inter-state co-operation, with particular focus on exploiting potential still unexploited in an economic way; providing the necessary support by the Russian state for Kosovo's membership in the European and International Organisations; visa liberalisation process for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo; advancing the European Aegean and dialogue with Serbia.
