Association in exchange for continuing dialogue, Serbia's new condition

Parliamentary Commission for Kosovo in Serbia's Parliamentary Assembly Chairman Milovan Drescu has said today that different views exist as regards the final agreement on normalising relations between Pristina and Belgrade. According to him, Western states that support Kosovo's independence stand on one side, while on the other is Serbia and states which he says support Belgrade's interests.
The “Party, which supports Kosovo's independence, thinks the reality they support is the end of all, and that nothing on Kosovo's status can be discussed. According to them, Serbia must accept this reality and behave as a neighbouring state towards Kosovo”, Drescu said.
But again, Drun says Serbia has a completely different view of this situation.
According to Drescu, if Serbia would accept these as he calls them unilateral actions and realities, then this would lead to a new conflict in the Balkans.
He also spoke of continuing dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, which he said depends on the Kosovo side as well as the implementation of preliminary agreements.
Serbia is ready for continued dialogue, but that depends on the other side. We want to continue the process of normalising relations between Pristina and Belgrade, but what has been achieved so far needs to be implemented, and this is immediately linked to forming the Serbian Communist Association, because it is meaningless to discuss further”, Drescu said.
Otherwise, the Kosovo side has repeatedly accused the Serbian side of the only topic on which they are willing to negotiate is Association and nothing else, not even implementing preliminary agreements. /Warn.net/
