Turkish authorities have arrested six people who have offended President Recep Tayyip Erdogan before the election campaign on June 23rd.
Prosecutors in the province of Aegan of Izmir have launched investigations after it has been agreed that a group of main opposition Republican People's Party supporters have offended Erdogan until “was considering alcohol” before an electoral rally was held by Erdogan's main rival, Muharrem Ince.
Inces have held a massive electoral rally in Izmir on June 21st. Police officials have identified six people. To insult the president is a crime you could be sentenced to four years in prison. Erdogan has filed up to 2,000 indictments against citizens, including school children, for insults against him.
According to what he has said, because of his good will, he has rejected all those indictments in 2016.
But since then there have been many more cases that have been indicted.
