The prime minister, Edi Rama, during his speech during the opening of the tourist bong in the city of Vlora, indicated that it is intended for Albania to return to a key destination of the Mediterranean bid for international tourism markets.
One of the instruments the government has decided to realise this goal is to reduce the tourism tax from 20% to 6%, as well as the VAT removal for ten years for the new 4-5-star hotels.
“just a few months ago, the “The Guardian” ranked the country among the 20 countries tourism can develop. The rise in the country's presence on the pages of newspapers, magazines, online media in the world that have talked about tourism is a significant but not surprising increase. At least not for us, as we are very clear what we have been aiming for in this transformation process, where the main instrument has been the Urban Renaissance programme”, Rama said.
“We have clear where we want to reach and given that last year we have reached 5 million foreign tourists, and this year we expect at least minimal 15% more than years, then the five-year bow is fully possible target of 10 million foreign tourists”, Rama said.
We did not take Vlora for granted, as Vlora is one of the main tourism poles and is the tourist emblem that has affected all tourist areas in the country and is progressing year after year. We know Vlora is still a site, so it's in a process of constant transformation. As long as you see investment in the “Central Boulevard leading to the stage, to give the city a new attractive, multigreen and atraction”, the prime minister concluded. / ATSH
