The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has signed memorandums of co-operation with NGO George Williams Youth Association in Kosovo, where the purpose of this memorandum is financing the “Non-form Education Centre for Youth”, located in the village of Petershan in the Gjakova municipality.
Minister Kujtim Gashi said it is a special moment to sign this agreement. Already in our budgetary projections, we have allocated a total of 150 thousand euros to finance this project.
The “is a historic day for us, since one of the largest centres we will have in Kosovo”, Gashi said.
Gashi said they are offering a physical platform and conditions for non-formal education to young people. This project also allows space for young people, will have a daily, weekly, and monthly attitude for young people who become part of this project.
He announced, however, that they are at the founding stage of the Youth Fund in order to have adequate funds for youth activities.
“We will start immediately with the construction of the object. The ministry will finance the project, while the tasks we have left to NGO George Williams Youth Association in Kosovo. Construction will begin in July and is expected to be completed in the middle of next year”, Gashi said. Dorina Luka Davies, representative of the NGO George Williams Youth Association in Kosovo, said this centre is the first in the Western Balkan region.
The “is a historic day for Kosovo youth, since this will be their centre. The centre has capacity of 90 beds and will have different activities. This center has a life span of 100 years with the possibility of continuing. There are also” sports grounds, Davies said.
