Wessel: European Integration, Final Results of Our Work

The head of the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament, Kadri Veselin, today, at a ceremony organised by the EU Office in Kosovo, on the occasion of Europe Day, has said Kosovo citizens believe in the values that Europe adopts. Speaking of Europe Day as an official holiday party on the Kosovo holiday calendar, Prime Minister Veselin said the holidays are not just holiday days, but in their physical rest they are the spiritual activities of a nation, Kosovo reports.
”Festat are moments when they convey the message of values in which a society believes. And the message we have wanted to convey through the official celebration of Europe Day is this: Kosovo citizens believe in the values that Europe embodys. Prior to that, this belief is not linked either to geopolitical interests or to the beliefs of political elites, but it is a direct expression of the European identity of the people of Kosovo”, said Chief Prime Minister Veselin.
He said the people of Kosovo do not have dilemmas for the form that will have their future. This future, according to Wessel, is called full integration of Kosovo into the structures of the European Union and part of NATO.
We have no choice. We don't work on alternatives to the future, because we can't get out of ourselves. Of course, the course we have chosen to pursue is not easy. We are aware that Kosovo's European integration is not the gift we will receive from Brussels on a beautiful day like this day. European integration will be the final result of our work in fulfilling the Euro-Atlantic vision”, Veselin stressed, Kosovo reports.
He said Kosovo institutions have this postula clear, so they are also working with dedication on tasks stemming from the approach process with the European Union.
The earlier arrival of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and now meeting the visa liberalisation criteria for Kosovo citizens in the Schengen Zone are clear indications of this commitment. We, with full justice, expect the European Union's appreciative mechanisms to recognise the results of this dedication and in the near months to have the decision on visa liberalisation”, the chief speaker Veselin stressed.
