Yesterday, Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj announced through his Facebook profile that he had paid a visit to the Vatican, writes Periscopi.
Again, as had happened in the past with President Thaci, the Vatican had shown hospitality to the delegation from Kosovo.
Prime Minister Haradinaj had met with Cardinal Pietro Palolin. Haradinaj said recognition by the Holy See is a necessary step. The prime minister says he has expressed the country's commitment to maintaining and advancing relations.
But there have been warm welcomes and similar words in the past, yet recognition by the Vatican has never come.
The Vatican's recognition has not come because the holy “ ”, as Lord Miguel Mauriy had said, does not want to undermine relations with the government of Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church.
In 2011, during a visit to Kosovo, the Vatican Apostolic Delegate to Kosovo, Julius Janusz had said there would soon be good news for Kosovo regarding recognition, but nothing concrete has yet happened. /Periscopi
