Kosovo institutions deliberately for more than 15 years have not changed UNMIK's regulation, which envisions favour and very high hire for visits abroad to public officials, Kosovo Anti-Corruption Centre Director Fidan Kalaya has said.
According to him, many events take place in the neighbouring state, Albania, because of this regulation, as much larger wages are being introduced in this country compared to other countries in the region, but also in Europe, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
In an interview for the newspaper “Koha Ditore”, he has said there are times when the main condition for the participation of officials in these events is for them to be organised outside Kosovo, precisely because of the wages they receive.
Kale has been the director of the Programmes in the FOL Movement, while now heads the non-governmental KUN organisation.
During the interview, he has talked about the numerous expenses public officials make on behalf of official meetings, visits abroad, and the wages they receive. It has shown how the Haradinaj government for six months has spent about 135 thousand euros only on official lunch.
