Aleksandar Vuciq, president of Serbia, has said he is obsessed with Kosovo and that the problem with Kosovo is the biggest in his political career.

In an interview for “Financial Times” for his political career, Vuciq has acknowledged that without solving the problem with Kosovo “everything he has achieved so far would be irrelevant”.

As of internationals, according to “FT”, Vuciq is seen as pro-European politician, the prestigious medium has not forgotten to mention that Vuciq had started his career as ultranationalist with the famous sentence that “for every Serb killed, we will kill 100 Muslims”, following the 1995 Srebrenica massacre, and the fact that Vuciq served as minister in Slobodan Milosevic's administration.

However, in 2018, Vuciq and several colleagues were separated from Vojislav Seshel to form the Serbian Progressive Party.

“Nitis to ask yourself whether those radical things are the only thing worth”, Vuciq said of his past, adding that another <x2nd> a war would destroy Serbia and destroy the future of the Serbian people forever”.

“FT” writes that Vuciq to bring Serbia to the European Union must solve the problem with Kosovo. This paper expects this year to be a final test for Serbia. According to her, the European Union is putting pressure on Vucic to come up with a proposal in the coming months to start talks with the Kosovo side, while citing even the refusal of five EU states to recognise Kosovo.

The paper also writes that part of the Serbian government's cabinet has supported the idea of partitioning northern Kosovo, but that is not seen as an idea shot by the West.

“FT” writes that the most likely solution is seen in autonomy and power sharing in the Serb-dominated part, in exchange for recognising Kosovo's independence, “but that too would be a step backwards for many Serbs and would face rejections, including from the Serbian Orthodox Church”.

In an interview with Serbian Patriarch Irinej, “FT”, says the 87-year-old has asked the newspaper team whether they are British or American and whether they will take Kosovo from Serbia.
We will not hand over Kosovo at any price. We're Europeans. We are in favour of the European Union, but not if Kosovo is the” price, Irinej has said.
