On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin has closely followed the event marking the Soviet Union's victory over the Nazis in World War II.
President Putin has attended this event by the Tribuna, packed with Soviet war veterans.
Next to him, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq were present.
During this military parade, Russia has shown some of its most advanced military equipment.
Among the most special moments of this event, as reported by foreign media, was the moment when the presidential bodyguard tried to remove a World War II veteran from Red Square.
And in this case, President Putin has reacted.
He has approached the veteran and has invited him to escort him to the tomb of an unknown soldier to establish a crown of flowers.
Otherwise, Russia's President Vladimir Putin indirectly criticised the United States in a speech at Red Square, on the case of the 73th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany during World War II.
“War is always a challenge to life itself, for all its benefits. We remember the tragedies of the two world wars, the lessons of history -- they don't allow us to close our eyes”, Putin said after a minute of silence in honour of war veterans.
After the new threats lie the same ugly traits: selfishness and intolerance, aggressive nationalism and claims to extraordinary”, the Russian president said.
Ties between Washington and Moscow have deteriorated in recent years, and Russian authorities have repeatedly criticised American officials, saying they talk about “the extraordinary” and are aiming to dominate the world.
Warning that the “package is very fragile”, Putin said that “Russia is open to dialogue on all global security issues and is ready for constructive and equal partnership in the name of reconciliation, calmness and progress on the planet”.
Western governments say they would welcome such co-operation, but that Russia is acting aggressively on the world stage in recent years.
In memory of the alliance's victory over Nazi Germany, a large military parade was also held in Moscow today.
