At least 12 Palestinians have been shot to death in Gaza by Israeli troops, in one of the bloodiest clashes in several weeks.
These images came ahead of the contradictory opening of the American Embassy in Jerusalem, which has angered Palestinians after viewing this as American support for Israel's leadership city.
Senior American officials will take part in the embassy opening, including President Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump.
Gaza's Islamic leaders, Hamas, have held major protests in the past six weeks.
Health ministers led by Hamas have indicated that among those killed there is a 14-year-old, while 500 people have remained injured, the BBC reports.
More than 50 Palestinians have died since the protests began.
The opening of this embassy is seen as a lot of contradiction because Jerusalem's status is at the center of the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Israel's sovereignty over Jerusalem is not internationally recognised, and according to a peace treaty signed in 1993 between Israel and Palestine, Jerusalem's final status remains for discussion in later stages of peace talks.
