Telekom workers react to Haradinaj: No pay cuts.

Telekom trade unions reject the idea of lowering salaries for the workers of this company. The last to warn such a thing is Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who today said it is possible that workers' salaries will be lowered by 10 per cent, while those at the Telekom management are down to 20 per cent. All of this according to [...]
All of this, according to Haradinaj, to save Telekom from bankruptcy. But this warning of the prime minister is strongly opposed by Telekom workers, as according to the leaders of the Union, workers are not guilty of being created in Kosovo Telecom.
Independent Telecom Union Federation Chairman Lamih Balaj has said of Kosovas that they refuse to cut salaries by even 1 per cent.
Neither 10 nor 5 per cent nor 1 per cent, because we're not about to lower workers' salaries every time Telekom gets hurt. We can't whenever demands come to Telekom from local or international courts to be paid off tools that the Telekom has not carried out obligations, or how they are connected we don't know those contracts, with paid money to the workers. What if we were to be reduced to 5 or 10 this year, and still after five six months we had a penalty for bad contracts that were bound, which means they would constantly be paid with workers' money, while those who caused them were staying at home or are official state positions... I don't know who they are, the prosecution needs a better day, because Telekom is not led by us, we're just workers, and at least the workers are at fault. But, of course, the boards, the managements were chosen directly from Government, we didn't pick them”, Balaj said.
He has added that Kosovo Telekom has been in a bad condition for a while, and that issue has been made known much earlier.
We didn't really appreciate that our salaries were first mentioned, because we had to find out the actors who brought Telekom into this situation and we all know that Telekom is not a month and two months in this situation, but for years it's been destroyed. It was the boards, the various managements, to the appointed ministers, who did not manage well and brought it to this state today where Tekekom is. Of course there are bad contracts, including the Z-Mobile contract. A contract that's in divorce and nothing brings us as a company. I listened to the prime minister, the prime minister said his pay discount was a little bit short of heart failure today, and I believe the prime minister knows that he shouldn't cut down his wages, because after he's gone official letters and that he's met us union, I believe he's changed his extremely bad approach”, Balaj said.
Telekom's chief union, among other things, has said that no workers are guilty of excessive number of workers in Telekom.
Balaj asks the Government to increase investments and cut off illegal contracts in this company, so that Telekom can still give the distribution after a year to the Government.
I'm not guilty of being 2300 employees, and at least those workers who are employed here are guilty. But if it's excessive, we're looking for work and we're willing to move the company forward, but while the institutions shut down and do our job, private companies, outside and take millions of euros, I get out of Telekom for things that need to be done with us, then what do you mean? We're asking that by stopping those extortion tools and our workers from doing those jobs, because they're getting salaries because you're going to see that a Telekom that gave him 520 million, which in one year I'm going to give back the screws”, he said.
Balaj claims that should wage cuts occur, measures will be taken for protests and strikes.
He has indicated that statements by state officials who are talking Telekom's bankruptcy is causing difficulties to the workers of this company, as banks are not lending.
