A year and a half after the first phone call through the new 383 code, Kosovo Telecom cannot complete the full transition to this code.
As a consequence of the financial crisis in which it is found, this company has asked the Electronic and Post Communications Regulatory Authority (ARKEP) to delay the time when it should eventually remove the old 377 code, writes “Koha Ditore” today.
ARKEP had set June 1st of this year as the last date when complete transfer to the new code should be completed.
However, the same institution has now decided to postpone this goal for another five months, arguing that operators are facing difficulties in the process.
In the process of implementing specific ITU codes, operators are facing some challenges, which are especially highlighted in the time of the end. Kosovo's Telekom, in particular, is facing financial problems”, says the reason for this institution's decision.
Telekom's approach to implementing the new code has also been accepted by the chairman of the company's Board, Besa Shatri-Berisha.
