His equipment will already be enjoyed by the captains who direct navigation to the port of Basra, the southern city.
Along with other treasures left by Saddam, who collapsed in 2003, during a US-run attack on Iraq, and who hung three years later for crimes against humanity, successive governments found it hard to find out what to use the yacht.
Since Iraq took it in 2010, following a court battle and a three-decade-long pillow of the country, it has been largely anchored in Basra. Luxury yacht equipment went on sale at a price of $30 million.
