Newly arrived as president of the Social Democrat Party, Shpend Ahmeti is being investigated by the State Prosecutor for Party Employment in the Pristina Community, during his first term, of VVA militants, part of which was until 3 months ago.

Shpend Ahmeti's “Act regarding employment in the Pristina municipality is in the phase of preliminary investigations”, spokesman Ekrem Lutfiu said on Friday.
The investigation is being carried out by the Special Prosecutor, following several criminal charges that have been filed with Ahmeti's political opponents last year.
Ahmeti as head of Pristina is reportedly violating the law by contracting to operate dozens of VV) party militants, part of which was until January this year.
However, The PDK, which in August 2017, deposited in Pristina's State Prosecutor's PDK criminal statements to then-government Ahmeti and VV therefrom in Pristina, claimed that as many as 500 have gone by the number of illegal employees from the mayor of Pristina, who only a few months later won the second term at the capital's helm.
The monthly salaries allegedly paid to this VV) militants by Ahmeti as head of the Pristina municipality have ranged from 250 euros to nearly 500 Sosh per month.
The State Prosecutor on Friday has not indicated about Express whether Ahmeti is the only subject of the investigation in question. As, the same have not indicated if the Pristina chairman has been interviewed so far for prosecution allegations.
Shpend Ahmeti, late last year, has won the second term at the helm of Pristina, as the candidate of the Vetevendosje Movement. Just a few months later, at the beginning of this year, Ahmeti left the movement, with his arrival at the helm of Albin Kurti, following the clashes that led to the division of this political party.
On Wednesday, Ahmeti was elected chairman of PSD •, as he and a group of VVV deputies joined the Social Democrat Party of Sousha Jashar.
