Guterres in the report on UNMIK's work for the period from January 17th to April 15th invites leaders in Belgrade and Pristina to continue dealing with issues disputed through dialogue and demonstrating the political will required for full normalisation of relations.
Kosovo Police's “behavior during the stressed operation, such as Djuric's arrest, in which he has suffered injuries, is an issue of concern. The fundamental investigation is necessary for the events of March 26th with corrective actions in the event of human rights disrespect”, Guterres said.
He has also expressed concern about the slow progress of investigations into the murder of Serbian political leader Oliver Ivanovic.
The report welcomes ratification of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro in the Kosovo Assembly, which shows Kosovo's commitment to European perspective, broadcast Serbian media.
