Dutch scientists in laboratory environments with the mouse's nuclear cell have produced embryolike structures without using sperm or ovaries.
Embryos derived from the cell core in the laboratory will be used to contribute in the sense of abortions taking place in the early stages of pregnancy, not for cloning humans or animals.
Nicolas Rivron from M Institutes ERLN and Hübrecht in Utrecht, who is also the leader of the research team, said that with this research the unknown will be enlightened in the early pregnancy.
He said embryos have all kinds of cells needed for an organism. According to him, this study will help to provide more information on fertility and abortions in early pregnancy.
