Turkey's economy has been hit hard by the swift decline in the value of the lira. Compared to the dollar, Turkey's most used international currency, the lira has lost 20 percent.

This is actually good news for importers from Albania. Turkey is one of the main partners of the Albanian economy, and the lower value of the lira has prompted the price of Turkish goods to drop in exchange for currency.

Last Wednesday, the lira seized the lowest level. The intervention of the Turkish bank, increasing the interest rate, somewhat increased the value of the local currency. On Friday, the Central Bank said it would allow some foreign currency loans to be paid in the lira.

Meanwhile, Saturday, speaking in the eastern town of Erzurum, a month before Turkey goes to the polls, Erdogan said:

My brothers, who have dollars or euros under the mattress, go and trade for free. We have to solve this problem together. If the financial sector plays such a game against us, let it know it's going to pay a bitter price of”.

Official Ankara claims the decline of the lira is a conspiracy of foreign powers to weaken Turkey. But, on the other hand, many economists think that what Turkish lira is going through does not differ from what many other coins are going through in developed countries.
