He denied that this decision was a sign of the government's arrogance, but acknowledged that they had erred, given good intentions.

This is a complex issue, but it's not a matter of arrogance. It's a total mistake that came after we left for a good purpose. We were wrong after that contract was made two years ago and came to be implemented at a moment when neither we nor the community were prepared. It was a innovation in Albania and we missed the strategy to present and adapt properly to”, Rama said.

As for further fate of the Nation Road and contracting with the concession, Prime Minister Rama said the government is studying a new option of functioning the taxation system in that axis.

So not to make a mistake is impossible, but there's a difference between unwanted error and what is done for certain purposes. It is important, however, that we learn lessons from this and others to stop repeating them in the future. In the concrete case, we will give a new option to functioning the taxation of that road. We are studying the proper and affordable form of citizens, but taxation is inevitable, as it is a path that cannot be maintained differently”, Rama said.
