Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama has said his country is obliged to protect Albanians living outside the borders of the Albanian state.
Speaking to Euronews Rama has said Albanians in the Balkans have never been in a better position than today.
“under our Constitution, we have an obligation to protect Albanians abroad everywhere, but at the same time I think Albanians have never been better than today, wherever they live. So, in Kosovo, they have their own country now. In Macedonia, they are part of a true revolution in terms of changing access to the Albanian language and to the Albanian people. In southern Serbia, I hope their conditions will improve, given the fact that Serbs in Kosovo are treated much better”, Edi Rama has told Euronews.
Rama has said it opposes creating “Greater Albania”.
I've always said that I have a dream of joining in a European Union sky and never dreaming of a Greater Albania because I have big dreams, for a Greater Europe, with all Albanians within”, the prime minister of Albania has indicated.
