Putin honours only one participant in his inauguration, he is Gerhard Schroeder (Video)

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has been among the guests at the inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin has reserved an exclusive greeting for Schroeder.

He was among only two or three people in the first row where Putin was inaugurated, whose Russian president devoted little time to greeting him more specifically, writes Periscope.

While Schroedes was Chancellor, he has maintained special ties between Germany and Russia. It has also approved the creation of underwater Russian gas line through the Baltic Sea.

The U.S. newspaper Wall Street Journal called Schroder Putin's McColigark.

Schroeder, since the end of his political career, was chairman of the board of shareholders of the Nord Stream gas consortium, most of which owns the Russian state concert Gazprom.

The 73-year-old ex-cancellary was strongly protected against criticism, and said “is about my life and I decide, not the German press. ”

Schroeder was German Chancellor during NATO bombings on Serbian military and police targets.
